My goal is to help you to find the bow ideally suited to you personally
- Your wishesTo start with, we will discuss your personal wishes and expectations. I am happy to customise a bow to satisfy your particular requirements.
- Hearing you playThere are many advantages if you are able to visit my atelier in person; hearing you play on your instrument gives me valuable insight into matching you with the ideal bow. You might also consider sending a recording of your playing.
- Trying the bowWhen I have a suitable bow ready it will be sent to you. You only have to pay the postage costs.
About Basil
Bow maker and Baroque violinist
Being an active Baroque violinist gives me the opportunity to test and fine-tune my bows in a professional context. So I am able to combine my knowledge and skills as a bow maker with my ‘hands-on’ expertise as a player.
For more than thirty years I have been making historical bows in my atelier situated in the heart of Amsterdam. Since May 2022 we are living and working in Rome, Italy.
